For the first time in the history of UnifiedVU, today I pitched the business to a panel of investors and deal makers at Prolific North Live held today at Old Trafford Cricket Grounds. I was expecting a severe grilling, especially as I knew two of the panel members, but they let me off easily during Q&A.

The panelists included:

  • Paul Hardman – Flix Facilities
  • Paul Taberner – EV Group
  • Morgan Killick – Business Sheffield
  • David Smith – AXM Ventures
  • Phillip Brennan – Business Comparison
  • Rupert Wingate-Saul – AXM Ventures
  • James Sheridan – Turner Parkinson

Except Phillip, I had a chance to catch up with the panelists afterwards and learn from their first impressions. None of them said its a silly idea, one felt it’s hard and another thought we should have shown the systems we already support. Overall, it was a good outcome, especially as one of the panelists is from a company which is already in my sales pipeline.

Talking about pipelines, here is our funding pipeline (eating our own dog food), which as you can see, need some work in filling.

I’ve also publicly shared investor details we have in our CRM, collected over the last 5+ years.

Nick Jaspen

I would like to take this opportunity to thank Nick Jaspen for organising the event.
