As UnifiedVU did not achieve product/market fit within a sufficient time scale, the product was mothballed in 2018 and I (Manoj) remained the only regular user. Here’s a quick historical map.
July – Specification was written to build Livestax by Ross and funded by Phil.
Sep – Manoj joins Causeway to commercialise and spin out Livestax as a product and a new company.
– Manoj and Asinsala start to experiment with Livestax Framework whilst Manoj was helping Causeway commercialise it through partnerships. Manoj leaves Causeway to setup UnifiedVU in Dec 2014. Built edocr and CapsuleCRM apps on Livestax/UnifiedVU.
H1 – Accusoft acquires edocr.com where Asinsala worked full time resulting in loss of progress at UnifiedVU.
July – Cheran joins UnifiedVU and we start to push forward with a team of 3 (two developers and me).
H2 – Focused on selling to enterprise, which did not produce results by early 2016 at which point the strategy was ditched.
– Focused on productisation. Signed up early micro and small company customers.
– Lost a key small customer who started to bully the company. Manoj loses faith with Stripe and wow to never use them again. As we did not achieve product/market fit within the time scale (within 2 years of going full time) and due to an external requirement on Manoj (plus running out of cash), we made UnifiedVU Platform free for all.
July – Last team member departs leaving Manoj to enjoy the Platform as the only active user, even though we still have nearly 100 user accounts live. New requests for trialling were regularly refused.
Feb – Techcelerate commissions UnifedVU to build a specific application with data. 9 customers pay in advance. UnifiedVU’s second customer is among the 9.
[UnifiedVU continues to remain self-funded and 100% owned by Manoj.]
